At tournament registration:
Each team must have a coach or parent leader register
their team. That coach will then hand out packets to each of
the team members. Each student therefore, does not need to
check in at the registration table.
Late Registration and Event changes:
From 7:00 – 7:30 on Thursday morning students may drop,
add, or change their speech events. There will be a $7 fee for late,
or changed events, but no charge to drop one.
Debate:
Limit: 60 teams
Limit: There is no limit to the number of students who participate.
Each
student may compete in 5 events.
Judges & Timers
Judges: To ensure an optimal experience for all those involved, we ask that
participants bring their own timepiece and a judge if at all possible.
Timers: If a parent or sibling (10 years & older) would be willing to time, please
let the registration/information desk know.
Timepieces:
We ask that each team bring as many labeled timepieces as they have
available.
Training:
There will be judges training every half hour preceding a new round.
Judges only need to attend one training session for speech and one for debate. Even if you are an experienced judge, we ask that you attend one of the sessions to ensure consistency in judging.
Hospitality:
A hospitality room, with food and drinks, will be
available all three days for those judging.
Meals
There is no time scheduled to leave the tournament in order to eat. The church we are using will be providing concessions all day, each day. They ask that we give them an idea of the amount of food to be purchased by each family, so they can correctly order. You will pay at the time of purchase.
You are also welcome to bring your own meals from outside, however, I ask that you consider purchasing some food at the tournament in order to support Harwood Terrace Baptist.
